The Quiet Fixer in ComAp’s HR Engine Room: Michaela Snížková

If leadership can be measured by the number of people it makes life easier for, Michaela Snížková has been leading for years. In 2025, ComAp recognised her with a Leadership Award — for work that rarely makes headlines, but shapes how companies function.

There is a kind of leadership you notice most in busy seasons, when people want to know what comes next, deadlines land, and they need to trust the process.

Leaving her mark behind the scenes

Some roles are easiest to notice when they’re missing. HR Operations is one of them. Most employees only brush past it: a few clicks on a form here, a deadline there, a colleague onboarded without friction — and life goes on. But when it doesn’t work, you feel it immediately.

That’s Michaela Snížková’s turf. Based in Prague, she leads HR Operations at ComAp — the quiet engine room that keeps our company moving, holding together performance review cycles and day-to-day HR processes.

ComAp: a return to work and a deliberate choice

Míša joined ComAp after five years on maternity leave, returning during Covid. She knew she wanted to stay in Operations — not just a job title, but the kind of work that makes things run.

She was drawn to it because it “bridges HR theory with practice, bringing the quiet satisfaction of getting something complex to run smoothly.” But she was also looking for a workplace built on trust, with the flexibility to make real life workable.

She also carried a clear memory from an old job where she was on “the receiving end.” The processes were technically correct but felt designed for the system, not for the person trying to get through their day. She knew she didn’t want to go down that road. She wanted to work in a company that listens before it lands decisions on people’s desks.

And that’s what she says she found at ComAp: an international role connected to a broader project, the option to start part-time, and — because it’s the HQ — the chance to help shape how the “centre” works in practice. For her, that combination mattered because it made the work feel serious without making life feel impossible. It’s also why she described herself as “lucky twice”: once for the role and once for the people around her.

That mindset of “trust first, partnership over orders” makes the most difference when a company changes tools and habits at the same time. That’s when it becomes practical — and where she has had a lasting impact. She helped roll out a clearer backbone in ComAp’s HR information system, standardising how we run compensation and performance, work that gets stress-tested every year when goals open and deadlines land.

Recognition and what next

In 2025, ComAp recognised that work with a company-wide award. When Míša received the Leadership Award 2025, the citation highlighted “implementing HR IT tools, building practical processes and reporting, and guiding change management, while training, educating, adjusting, improving, and supporting others with patience and a smile.”

Starting in March 2026, she also stepped into one of ComAp’s core areas, R&D, in an HR Business Partner role while keeping her “home base” in HR Operations. It was a move that made sense: closer to the teams building the future, without leaving the operational work that keeps the year running.

Quiet reset

Outside the calendar and the systems, Míša admits to a simple way of resetting: books. She reads — a lot. It’s her way of putting down the phone and returning to the “here and now” flow, letting the noise settle. Whenever she feels like getting some movement in rather than turning pages, she goes inline skating — another way to clear her head, she says.

It’s a small detail, but it fits the larger story: leadership that doesn’t need to announce itself. Work that stays in the background. Until you imagine what the company would feel like without it.
