The InteliNeo 530 BESS is an advanced energy management system providing secure and reliable control and monitoring for battery energy storage systems (BESS) to ensure the highest level of Storage System performance. Designed to respond to the needs of BESS packagers, it enables direct integration of the Battery Management System (BMS) with the Power Conversion System (PCS) within a BESS, as well as control, monitoring and protection of the auxiliary systems.

  • Predefined BMS and PCS devices stored within the device list to save time on setting up Modbus communications

The InteliNeo 530 BESS is an easy to setup and use BESS controller. It complies to the latest international industry security standards and provides the highest level of cyber security protection of your data. Synchronising breaker control, load sharing with other ComAp-controlled assets and interfacing to higher-level controllers are all supported as standard and facilitate an easy addition of the BESS into a new or existing microgrid if needed.

The InteliNeo 530 BESS offers:  

  • Single control solution for integration of battery energy storage system components, that is easy to set up, use and access on-site as well as remotely
  • Easy integration of the Battery Management System and Power Conversion System via a Modbus RTU/TCP device list
  • AC and DC startup sequence, breaker control, voltage and current setting
  • Compatible load/Var sharing and power management of the BESS with other ComAp solutions
  • Grid forming (V/F), grid following (P/Q) and droop (VSG) modes supported
  • Synchronising AC breaker control, enabling the BESS to be easily added into a microgrid
  • Monitoring, control and protection of all auxiliary systems including HVAC, fire detection or suppression, ingress detection, E-Stop, etc.
  • Active sync and silent operation functions
  • Peak shaving, helping to use the stored energy and limiting the import from the mains
  • Trusted and secure connection, keeping your business and data as safe as possible with design adhering to the global ISA 62443 security standards
  • Alarm and fault management of all components within the battery storage system
  • Event-based history for fast and easy troubleshooting
  • Remote control and monitoring of your BESS with WebSupervisor, our cloud-based online management service  
  • Built-in PLC interpreter using ComAp’s free PLC editor
  • Slots for plug-in modules for 4G and GPS, additional Ethernet port, RS232/485 connection or additional binary inputs/outputs
  • Secure Modbus TCP interface for higher level external control systems
  • Network interface for connection to higher-level 3rd party control systems
  • AirGate 2.0 for easy connection to your equipment remotely, without worrying about your asset’s IP address

InteliNeo 5XXX Bracket
Precision-engineered mounting bracket designed to provide a secure, industrial-grade interface between the controller and standard 35mm DIN rail (EN 60715) systems. Manufactured from high-strength metal, it ensures mechanical stability and vibration resistance in demanding electrical cabinet environments.

This bracket is designed for a precision-fit “swipe-in” installation, allowing the controller to be securely seated into the frame with minimal effort. The bracket utilises the universal clipper sets typically reserved for door mounting, providing a familiar and reliable tightening mechanism that locks the controller into the bracket.

Extended Feature - Multi BMS Control 8 BMS
The MultiBMS Support extension enables advanced-level DC orchestration by integrating multiple independent battery strings into a unified logic layer, effectively removing the hardware requirement for a physical Master BMS. By activating this feature, the controller assumes the role of a central energy storage aggregator, utilising real-time battery string voltages and telemetry to execute a DC string start-up sequence to energise the common DC bus and pre-charge PCS capacitors. This intelligent orchestration staggers the connection of individual strings to the DC bus, effectively suppressing peak inrush and balancing currents and preventing DC link capacitor stress or nuisance tripping. By managing contactor timing and balancing logic during initialisation, the controller ensures a safe, soft-start transition into full operational mode, maintaining system stability across the entire parallel battery bank architecture.
