5 min read

ComAp is proud to announce the launch of the Emulation Tool — a powerful new simulation solution that brings controller testing and site validation straight into the office, with no gen-sets, switchboards, or complex hardware setups required. Available directly in ComAp’s InteliConfig software, the Emulation Tool is activated by a software key within each controller. It is now available for InteliGen 500 G2, InteliMains 510, InteliGen 1000 and InteliMains 1010. For InteliNeo 5500 and InteliNeo 6000, the Emulation Tool will be available within one month, with InteliSys 2000 and marine controller support coming in the second half of 2026.

The ComAp Emulation Tool enables engineers and system integrators to simulate the full behaviour of mains, gen-sets, PV systems, batteries, and loads using predefined ComAp site models. Leveraging a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) approach, the tool runs actual controller firmware, delivering realistic, high-fidelity emulation that closely mirrors real-world site conditions.

Embedded in ComAp’s InteliConfig

Seamlessly embedded in InteliConfig, the Emulation Tool uses a standard archive format and allows users to switch effortlessly between emulation and standard operation — making it a natural extension of the tools engineers already use every day.

Smarter project design, reduced commissioning time

ComAp’s Emulation Tool will significantly help project teams testing, validating, or troubleshooting complex projects, enabling them to:

  • Reduce commissioning time and costs: By completing testing and validation in the office before going on site, project teams can significantly cut the time and expense associated with on-site commissioning.
  • Eliminate project risk early: Identify and resolve configuration issues during the engineering phase — long before any hardware is deployed — reducing costly surprises in the field.
  • Accelerate training and skills development: Provide hands-on controller training without the need for physical equipment, enabling teams to upskill faster and more cost-effectively.
  • Enhance troubleshooting and technical support: Replicate complex site scenarios in a controlled environment to diagnose issues quickly and support customers more efficiently.
  • Strengthen presales and demos: Showcase controller configurations and project capabilities to customers in a live, interactive way — directly from a laptop.

The Emulation Tool is designed for professionals who design, engineer, or commission complex projects, including data centres, hybrid microgrids, and other sophisticated installations.

The Emulation Tool is available from April 30, 2026.
